UPL increases revenue by 10% in the first fiscal quarter

The company reports an increase in EBITDA and growth in its seed and crop protection operations

UPL reported revenue of 10.181 crore rupees in the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, a 10% increase over the same period of the previous year. EBITDA reached 1.500 crore rupees, a 15% increase, with a margin of 14,7%. The company released the results on August 3rd.

The contribution margin rose 1,8 percentage points to 45,2%. The company attributed the result to price adjustments, increased use of industrial capacity, and the product mix. Prices rose 3% during the period, supported by the exchange rate.

Results by segments

UPL Corporation, focused on crop protection, reported revenues of 6.374 crore rupees, a 7% increase. Operating EBITDA rose 38% to 532 crore rupees. North and Latin America led the regional expansion.

Advanta reported revenue of 1.754 crore rupees, up 26%. Corn and sunflower oil drove performance, with increases in volume and prices. EBITDA reached 359 crore rupees, a 24% increase.

Superfrom's revenue reached 2.919 crore rupees, a growth of 14%. The specialty chemicals area advanced 51%, supported by volumes and prices. EBITDA increased 7% to 358 crore rupees.

Results may be regional

By region, revenue grew 18% in North America, 15% in India, 8% in Latin America, and 4% in Europe. Net debt remained at $2,5 billion. The ratio of net debt to EBITDA fell from 2,6 to 2,4 times.

For fiscal year 2027, UPL projects revenue growth between 7% and 11%. The EBITDA forecast indicates growth between 10% and 14%.
