Fertilizers Tocantins (FTO), controlled by the Swiss group EuroChem, takes another important step in its expansion plan, which began in 2008. This Thursday, July 19th, the company will inaugurate a new unit in the municipality of Catalão ( GO).

The Catalão factory, which received an investment of R$52 million, will be one of the largest in the state in its segment, in addition to being the most modern. The plant, built on an area of 18.650 m², has a static storage capacity of 80 thousand tons. The unit will generate 60 direct jobs and has an average production potential of 2,5 thousand tons of fertilizers/day. Fertilizers will be shipped in bulk, bagged in 50 kilo bags and in big bags (1 ton).

“Goiás has always been present in our growth project, with this new unit FTO now serves the main producing regions of the Brazilian Center-West, a region with high and growing productivity”, says the company's CEO, José Eduardo Motta, remembering FTO's strong presence in the State of Mato Grosso, where the company operates three units, Querência, Rondonópolis and Sinop, the latter unit being opened in May 2018.

With the arrival of the factory in the State of Goiás, which currently consumes approximately 3,2 million tons of fertilizers, the company plans to occupy a prominent position in an agile and efficient way. The strategic importance of Goiás is even more evident by the fact that the group chose its corporate headquarters in the state capital, Goiânia.

“The expectation is that in the coming years the State of Goiás will represent up to 15% of the company's total sales. Even before the inauguration, we had already achieved 60% of the sales projected for the year and the factory already has enough raw materials to supply above this volume sold”, says Eric Santos, Director of Central-South Sales at FTO.

Special Products – In addition to conventional fertilizers, the new Catalão unit is prepared to serve the important market for special products in the State of Goiás, such as sugar cane, fertigation, among others. These are nitric-based nitrogenous raw materials, produced in Europe by EuroChem, used in these crops, which complement FTO's line of special products known as Linha Forte.
