According to the Abimaq Agricultural Machinery Chamber (CSMIA), the average delivery time for agricultural machinery, in the market in general, is nine weeks, that is, more than two months. Since the beginning of the pandemic, in 2020, the sector has continued to experience difficulty in supplying raw materials, which began with a lack of steel and is now facing a shortage of semiconductors and other inputs used in manufacturing. Contrary to this reality, which disorganizes the chain of machines and hinders the performance of activities in the field, the Brazilian company MP Agro has been working with its resellers across the country to meet the maximum deadline of 30 days for deliveries of its products from the drag, and even offering at the time of purchase.
With an industrial unit in Ibaté, in the interior of São Paulo, the company operates in the market with four lines of fertilizer distributors. To continue serving rural producers with the advantage of a shorter deadline compared to other companies, the industry adopted measures such as increasing its production team and expanding its manufacturing structure. “We are also working in close partnership with suppliers, with schedules to avoid delays in the supply of raw materials and components in general”, highlights Daud Falconi, commercial director. Another great advantage for serving producers in the short term has been the strategic partnership with resellers across the country. “We work with advance purchase schedules, which provides even greater production speed and, consequently, machine availability”, he reinforces.

The company's flagship is the Z Line of broadcast distribution, a pioneering type of equipment, which is compatible with all existing self-propelled sprayer models, in addition to on-board precision agriculture and 100% stainless steel manufacturing. “The Z Line is the one that usually has a deadline of up to 60 days, as they are manufactured according to the customer's self-propelled model. The other lines have variety in immediate delivery”, explains the director.
The current MP Agro factory has 3.000m² of construction and the second facility will be opened later this year.
Advantage for the producer
Rural producers are used to unforeseen events, as there are many variables that affect field work. However, when there is a lack of equipment that is essential for the activity, such as planting and spraying machinery, there is a risk that the establishment of a crop will be harmed. Crop sowing has an ideal window, therefore, safety and delivery time of purchased equipment are very important.
“The producer may also have unforeseen events with their current machinery, or even difficulty in releasing agricultural credit, with a longer term than estimated. But, if he has the possibility of having the machinery in time for its use, it guarantees better quality in the application of the fertilizer”, says Falconi. Furthermore, he points out that this will have a direct impact on productivity at the end of the harvest. “So we believe that serving the producer in the shortest possible time is a big difference”, he concludes.
