Soybean producers in Rondônia must be aware of the deadline for planting the crop in the state, which ends tomorrow, Thursday (9/1). After this date, sowing the oilseed is strictly prohibited. The period stipulated by the Ministry of Agriculture (Mapa) considers important factors such as climate, soil quality, air humidity and other ideal characteristics, aiming to prevent Asian soybean rust.

“In the case of soybeans, the sowing season must coincide with the period of the year when there is the most rainfall to favor seed germination,” explains the president of the Agrosilvopastoral Health Defense Agency of Rondônia (Idaron), Julio Cesar Rocha Peres.

Crop registration

Another date that should be remembered by soybean farmers is the deadline for completing the annual soybean cultivation registration, which, in this harvest, runs until January 30. The procedure can be done through the Pesticide Use Control System (Siafro) (siafro.idaron.ro.gov.br/).

Marcos Rocha, governor of Rondônia, highlights the importance of observing planting and registration calendars, since soybeans are one of the main monocultures produced in the state, with a significant share in the state's trade balance. “Soybeans are a product of great importance to the economy of Rondônia, being one of the main agricultural products in the country, driving investments in infrastructure and technology in the producing regions, hence Idaron's strict care in protecting one of Rondônia's main raw materials”, he concludes.
