The forecast for the next four days in Rio Grande do Sul indicates changes in the weather only over the weekend. This is what the Integrated Agrometeorological Bulletin 30/2024 points out, from the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Sustainable Production and Irrigation (Seapi), in partnership with Emater/RS and the Rio Grandense do Arroz Institute (Irga).
Friday (26/07): the action of a Low Level Jet (JBN) and the South Atlantic Subtropical High will maintain the flow of moisture over the State, with increased cloudiness and conditions for isolated precipitation to occur over the South Region. However, this possibility may decrease as the trough moves towards the south of the Atlantic Ocean until it loses its intensity. In most regions the weather should remain stable, characterized by thermal amplitude throughout the day.
Saturday (27/07): the intensity of the JBN will decrease the transport of humidity and warm air from the Amazon. However, the western sector of the South Atlantic Subtropical High will maintain the flow of oceanic moisture over Rio Grande do Sul, with precipitation possible at isolated points in the Central Plateau and Serra Gaúcha regions. In most regions, the weather should remain stable, with a gradual increase in temperatures from the morning until mid-afternoon.
Sunday (28/07): The entry of a cold front coming from Uruguay will bring changes in the weather over the State, which will cause moderate rainfall mainly in the South, Campanha and West Border regions. During the day, there will be a decline in temperatures in all regions, as the migratory anticyclone, which moves behind the cold front, will advance over Rio Grande do Sul.
Monday (29/07): the decline in temperatures, together with precipitation of moderate to heavy intensity over part of the South, Metropolitan, Central Plateau, Vales Region, Serra Gaúcha and North Coast regions, should occur due to the advance of a migratory anticyclone, which will transport oceanic moisture from the southeast quadrant towards the regions in question. This atmospheric configuration can create favorable conditions, although the possibility is small, for the occurrence of winter precipitation such as frozen rain, ice granules or even snow over isolated and higher points in the Serra do Sudeste (Caçapava do Sul - Canguçu - Pinheiro Machado) and over the Serra Gaúcha between the dawn of Monday and Tuesday.
Tuesday (30/07): The migratory anticyclone will move over Rio Grande do Sul, which will bring stable weather again, causing a sharp drop in temperatures during the morning hours. This should pose risks for the occurrence of frost in the morning in the South, Campanha and Western Border regions due to radiative loss.
Wednesday (31/07): The stable weather should continue with milder temperatures throughout the day, due to the temperature range.
The forecast for the next seven days indicates irregular rains over the State. The largest volumes are predicted for the South, Central, Metropolitan and Valley Regions, where the expected amount of rain could be between 30 and 100 millimeters.
