Canola presents satisfactory development in Rio Grande do Sul
The predominance of sunny days and mild temperatures also benefited wheat; the sown area, considered technically completed, reached 99%
The forecast for the next few days in Rio Grande do Sul indicates changes in the weather from the weekend onwards. This is what the Integrated Agrometeorological Bulletin 31/2024 says, from the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Sustainable Production and Irrigation (Seapi), in partnership with Emater/RS and the Rio Grandense do Arroz Institute (Irga).
Friday (2/8): the flow of humidity and hot air over the State will be maintained by the same atmospheric configuration as the previous day, with more cloudiness being observed throughout the day and conditions favorable to the occurrence of isolated rainfall of weak intensity over the Campanha and Fronteira Oeste regions. In most regions, the weather should remain stable, being again characterized by thermal amplitude between early morning and late afternoon.
Saturday (3/8): the approach of a cold front coming from Uruguay, associated with the action of the Low Level Jet, which will intensify the flow of humidity and warm air, will cause the weather to change between the beginning of the afternoon and the course of the night to a more unstable condition , from which increased cloudiness can be observed. In this new atmospheric configuration, there will be conditions for precipitation along the border strip over the South, Campanha and Fronteira Oeste regions.
Sunday (4/8): A cold front will enter Rio Grande do Sul during the early hours of the morning, bringing changes in the weather with moderate to heavy rainfall in the South and Campanha regions, where forecasts indicate rainfall between 30 mm and 100 mm. Over the course of the day, there will be a decline in temperatures in the southern half of the state, as a migratory anticyclone, which moves behind the cold front, advances.
Monday (5/8): the passage of the cold front, although modest, will cause moderate intensity precipitation in a more widespread manner in the South regions, part of the Central Region, Metropolitan Region, part of the Valleys Region and Central Plateau. Temperatures should remain mild during the day, due to the movement of the migratory anticyclone towards the Atlantic Ocean.
Tuesday (6/8): precipitation will occur over the Metropolitan regions, Vales Region, part of the Central Region, Central Plateau and Missões with weak to moderate intensity. Temperatures should remain mild over the entire state, due to the removal of the migratory anticyclone, which will head towards the sea.
Wednesday (7/8): The rain should be of moderate intensity, occurring mainly over the North and Upper Uruguay regions. Temperatures should remain mild across the state for the same reason as the previous day.
The forecast for the next seven days indicates rain of light to moderate intensity throughout Rio Grande do Sul. The heaviest rainfall is expected in the southern regions, with forecast volumes between 50 and 100 millimeters. In the Central, Campaign and Western Border regions, volumes must vary between 20 mm and 50 mm. For the northern half of the State, forecast rainfall varies from 1 mm to 30 mm, decreasing as the area approaches the extreme north.
