The e-book "Tiro Certeiro: Controle de mancha-tarjeta em soja" (Spot-targeting: Control of Target Spot in Soybeans), released in the October edition in partnership with Bayer, is now available for reading and download. The material brings together, in technical and straightforward language, the latest evidence on the disease caused by Corynespora cassiicola — currently among the main foliar threats to the crop — and details how to combine cultural, chemical and genetic measures to reduce productivity losses.

The content covers epidemiology and inoculum sources (crop residues, weeds, and seeds), describes symptoms and risk factors (such as soybean-cotton successions), and discusses the progression of disease severity in different producing regions. It also presents consolidated results from trial networks that quantify the disease's impact on yield and compare the performance of fungicide programs.

Among the practical recommendations, the e-book highlights early application—starting between 25 and 30 days after emergence and protecting the critical canopy between 30 and 40 DAE—as well as adjusting canopy architecture (spacing that favors aeration) and choosing cultivars based on susceptibility levels. For chemical control, it emphasizes the combined use of triazoles/triazolinthione, strobilurins, and carboxamides, always with multi-site agents (such as mancozeb) for robustness and resistance management.

The material also discusses effective doses and concentrations, the importance of alternating mechanisms of action, and the adaptation of application intervals according to disease pressure (shorter cycles under greater severity). Recent results indicate good consistency of programs that include prothioconazole combined with carboxamides and strobilurins, with gains in control and productivity in the scenarios evaluated.

With a focus on integrated management and decision-making in the field, the e-book is useful for technicians, consultants, and producers seeking to align prevention, monitoring, and more assertive applications during the harvest.
