Case IH Steiger/Quadtrac, New Holland T9 PLM, John Deere 9R and 9RX and Fendt Vario offer farmers the most robust options
Some farmers have already started sowing rice for the 2022/23 harvest. With the planting phase started and continuing for the next few months, initial forecasts from official bodies foresee good results in next year's harvest. In the processing industry, expectations are positive.
According to estimates by the National Supply Company (Conab) released at the end of August, rice production in Brazil should reach 11,2 million tons. There is a possibility of recovery in productivity compared to 2021/22.
In addition to the quantity to be produced in Brazil, industries also consider imported rice, grown in neighboring countries, in their estimates.
“That's why we believe that the quantity of rice will not be a concern for the next harvest. In addition to the surplus we harvest in the Brazilian harvest, there is a supply of approximately 3,5 million tons that are harvested in Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay”, explains the Supply Manager at Fumacense Alimentos, Gilberto de Moliner Teixeira.
Depending on the region, the largest volume of production negotiations varies. In the case of Fumacense Alimentos, the strategy is to maintain contact with producers also during the off-season and rice planting period.
“We have partner farmers who, for several years, have been selling and depositing the cereal with us, or who store the rice in silos on their properties and sell it throughout the year”, explains the Director of Operations at Fumacense Alimentos, Jean Alexander Marquardt.
