The São Paulo Congress of Phytopathology reaches its 44th edition.

The Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), in partnership with the São Paulo State University (Unesp), is promoting the 44th São Paulo Congress of Phytopathology (44th CPF), one of the most traditional and important scientific events in the field of plant health in Brazil, from July 22nd to 24th. The congress will be held at the Faculty of Agronomic Sciences of Unesp, in Botucatu, bringing together researchers, professors, students, professionals, companies, and representatives of the productive sector from all over the country.

With the theme "Science, technology and innovations in plant protection," the program will address strategic issues for contemporary agriculture, such as artificial intelligence applied to disease management, biological control, fungal resistance to fungicides, regenerative systems, the One Health approach, corn stunt disease, and citrus greening. The congress will also feature lectures, roundtables, discussion forums, oral presentations, and poster sessions.

The expectation is to gather around 600 participants during the three days of activities, consolidating the congress as a space for scientific exchange, innovation, and closer ties between academia, the productive sector, and society in the search for solutions to the challenges of phytopathology and Brazilian agriculture. In this edition, the event will be chaired by Professor Waldir Cintra de Jesus Junior, from the Center for Natural Sciences (CCN) at the Lagoa do Sino Campus of UFSCar, reinforcing the University's participation in organizing scientific initiatives of national scope.
