Delays at ports cause millions in losses for the coffee industry.
Logistical bottlenecks prevented the shipment of 2.065 containers of coffee and caused foreign exchange losses exceeding R$ 1,4 billion.
Copercampos reaffirmed its commitment to sustainability by holding the 2025 Seed Bonus event as a carbon-neutral event, consolidating its position among institutions that incorporate climate management practices into their activities. The event, held on December 04, 2025, had all its Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions measured and offset, as determined by the Emissions Reduction and Compensation Program (PRCE), developed by AKVO ESG.
According to the GHG Emissions Inventory, prepared in accordance with NBR ISO 14064-1 and international GHG Protocol guidelines, the event generated 2,72 tons of CO₂ equivalent, considering direct, indirect emissions and those from the value chain. The survey covers sources such as transportation, electricity use and stationary combustion, with Scope 3 emissions predominating, representing 74% of the total.
To fully offset this impact, Copercampos acquired three carbon credits – an amount exceeding the calculated emissions – ensuring complete compensation for Scopes 1, 2, and 3 of the event. The credits used come from REDD+ projects, certified by the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) and registered on the VERRA platform, guaranteeing environmental integrity and traceability of the operation.
With the compensation completed, AKVO ESG awarded Copercampos the Carbon Neutral Seal, valid for one year and linked to the ongoing commitment to monitoring, reducing and mitigating emissions, in accordance with the guidelines of the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 13 – Climate Action.
By offsetting the emissions from the 2025 Seed Bonus, Copercampos demonstrates leadership and social and environmental responsibility, effectively contributing to climate protection and a more sustainable future.
