Inmet: weather forecast for Thursday (27) and Friday (28)
Unstable weather is expected in the Southeast and South regions, while temperatures rise across much of the country.
The 2026/27 soybean harvest in Paraná has the potential to reach a record production of 22,6 million tons, in an estimated area of 5,76 million hectares. According to the bulletin from the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (Seab), the projected average productivity exceeds 3.900 kilograms per hectare and maintains soybeans as the main crop in Paraná's agriculture.
Despite the favorable outlook, confirmation of this volume will depend mainly on weather conditions throughout the cycle, according to Deral market analyst Edmar Wardensk Gervasio.
"The 2026/27 harvest begins under the influence of the El Niño phenomenon, which tends to increase the frequency of rainfall in southern Brazil, especially during the spring. In Paraná, the main risk associated with the phenomenon is the possibility of frequent rainfall and excess moisture that could influence planting, harvesting, and crop management throughout the crop's development," he states.
Deral advises producers to pay close attention to the months of September and October, a period that coincides with the planting and establishment of a large part of the crops. Persistent rains can hinder planting and reduce the operating windows.
Between November and January, during important stages of development, flowering, and grain filling, both excessive rainfall and occasional periods of water scarcity can compromise the productive potential. Conversely, between February and March, rainfall well above average can hinder the progress of the harvest.
Thus, although initial expectations are positive, weather conditions will be crucial in determining whether the projected potential is realized and results in another record soybean harvest in Paraná.
The predicted weather scenario for the soybean crop should also influence the corn crop, although the periods of greatest risk will be slightly different depending on the crop calendar, highlights the Deral analyst.
For the first corn crop of 2026/27, Deral estimates an area of 373 hectares, an increase of approximately 2% compared to the previous cycle. Production is projected at 4,09 million tons.
