On January 16th, during the 15th Cerrado Expedition, the Agricultural Experimentation Group (GEA) will host a charity event with technical lectures focused on cotton cultivation. The program is aimed at students, industry professionals, and rural producers and will take place at the Rural Union of Primavera do Leste (MT), starting at 7:30 am.
Registration is open and must be done online via the form https://forms.gle/G96QeAaTnUnYpn4H9. Entry to the event will be by donation of non-perishable food items on the day of the program or by payment of R$ 15, an amount that will be used to purchase food.
The meeting will address the main challenges in cotton management, with an emphasis on strategies and technologies aimed at increasing productivity. Three technical presentations are planned, covering agronomic aspects, market opportunities, and production costs, focusing on the reality of Mato Grosso.
In the previous edition, held during the Cerrado 2025 Expedition, the charity event brought together around 250 participants at the new headquarters of the Bahia Cotton Producers Association (Abapa) and collected more than 600 kilos of food.
Currently, GEA, linked to Esalq/USP, stands out as one of the few academic groups that work directly with cotton cultivation, reinforcing its commitment to the dissemination of technical and scientific knowledge.
More information about the event can be found on the GEA website (www.gea-esalq.com.br).
