Due to the increasing use of technological innovations used by the agroindustry in the Brazilian center-west, the region leads the country's agricultural work productivity. In addition to contributing to increased yields in the field, the digitalization process improves farmers' quality of life and attracts investors to the sector, responsible for 26,6% of Brazil's Gross Domestic Product (GDP), according to the Center of Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea).
With more than 20 years in the market and great expertise in the Brazilian agro sector, with emphasis on activities in Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul, where he was responsible for the digital journey of large companies in the sector, such as SLC Agrícola, in Porto Alegre ( RS), and Castrolanda and BELAGRÍCOLA, in Paraná, NTT DATA Business Solutions also invests its resources in the center-west of the country.
The Japanese multinational, which foresees even greater economic growth in the region and already sees the place as having a high degree of maturity, with the application of technology in the production process, offers specialized services to meet the expectations and specificities of each company, in specific agribusiness processes. . The highlight in the industry is the application of disruptive technologies, which provide cost reduction, increased productivity and return on investment with the same planting area, generating greater profitability per rural worker and planted area.
The commercial director of the company NTT DATA, responsible for the office in the Central-West / North and Northeast region, Adalberto Silva Jr, highlights that investment in technology guarantees greater visibility in each productive stage of the business, generates confidence in relation to the return on investment, in addition to greater profitability per planting: “Encouraging and supporting companies, being a driving force in the development of agribusiness and the region is our expertise. NTT DATA integrates technologies, business models, specialized services and software solutions developed by it and SAP, that is, it ensures that the right solutions are applied at the right time and in the right places. We act as vectors to ensure increased productivity, management capacity and the correct application of material and financial resources to promote the industry”, he concludes.
The leader further explains that, with strategies aimed at consolidating the local office, which has been operating in Goiânia since 2020, the company is responsible for presenting robust methods of digital evolution, supporting partners on their digital journey, translating programming code into planted area and harvested grains, that is, bits and bytes for economic value, by the simple application of solutions, such as the use of machine learning in planters. The technology optimizes the use of seeds, fertilizer and creates favorable conditions for the planted area, reducing the cost of the business with fuel, based on the measurement of machines and components that generate better performance and, also, the correct maintenance of parts. Statistical and rainfall analysis for greater assertiveness when planting a given crop improves decision making, crop crossing models, among others, and is also another point to be addressed by technological solutions already developed and in application today, in rural productions.
The knowledge, services and technological solutions that worked, used in other companies and regions, are the translation of NTT DATA's investments to serve the Central-West. These are also the company's main activities in Goiânia, says Adalberto: “We try to get closer to our customers, creating conditions to replicate for them the success, demands and technologies developed by our team. The results are certain: the use of disruptive technologies makes it possible to multiply production and, with it, profitability margins. Companies and also the population win, benefiting from cheaper food and derivatives.
The average productivity per agricultural worker in the Midwest is much higher than the national average – and the use of technology is related to the optimization of labor, specialization and assertive application of mobile, technological, organic, financial and human resources in the process . “The state that stands out in the region is Mato Grosso, which in 2020 added around 120 thousand reais per rural worker/year, while in other regions and capitals, even in Goiás, that is, in the Center itself, West, we still find traditional or subsistence cultivation to a significant extent. With the conventional method, the average productivity remains below 80 thousand reais per rural worker/year. We will, together with companies here in the region, improve this scenario!”, concludes the executive.
