Fendt showcases the Xaver GT, an autonomous agricultural robot.

Syngenta has opened up its Cropwise digital platform to external developers. The announcement was made at Agritechnica in Germany. The goal is to boost agricultural innovation and reduce inequality in access to technology between large and small producers.
Launched in 2020, Cropwise offers tools for monitoring, operational management, seed selection, and application recommendations. The platform covers more than 70 million hectares in 30 countries. With the new open version, developers will be able to integrate their own solutions, taking advantage of agronomic models and artificial intelligence resources from Syngenta.
The decision comes after research by the IPSOS institute, in partnership with the company itself, showed a more rapid advancement of technology among large producers. The study also revealed that younger farmers more readily adopt new tools, while older farmers still see AI as inaccessible.
