Rio Grande do Sul's agricultural exports fall in the 2nd quarter of 2025
Compared to the same period in 2024, there was a 14,3% decline
Sumitomo Chemical Latin America has appointed agricultural engineer Alexandre Pires as its new Country Head for Brazil. He took office this September after 26 years at Adama Brasil, where he held leadership roles in marketing and sales.
Pires graduated from the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), with an MBA in Marketing from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV), an International Executive MBA from FIA and updates in Marketing from Purdue University, in West Lafayette (United States).
In his new role, he will lead the company's operations in Brazil, with responsibility for the entire management and implementation of the company's strategy, focused on the sustainable growth of the crop protection and BioRacionais businesses, based on strong relationships with customers, business partners, and people, and operational excellence.
