Although the 2024/25 sugarcane harvest in the Center-South has been similar in productivity when compared to 2023/2024, the lack of rain worries producers in several regions. The productivity of sugarcane fields harvested in June in the Center-South (89,9 t/ha) was 1,5% lower than that recorded in the previous harvest (91,2 t/ha).

In the accumulated harvest (April to June), productivity also remains close to that observed in the previous cycle, with a variation of approximately -2,5% (89,7 t/ha in this harvest, against 92 t/ha in 2023/24 ).

This is what data from the Harvest Eye Bulletin, released today by the Canavieira Technology Center (CTC), shows. According to the bulletin, sugarcane fields that will be harvested in the medium/late cycle are expected to suffer a greater impact due to the high accumulated water deficit.

The quality of the raw material (ATR) harvested in June was superior in practically all regions, with the exception of the regions of Assis and the states of Goiás, Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul.

Over the three months of the harvest, the result is quite similar – an increase in the quality of raw material in practically all states (125,0 kg/tc in 2023/24 to 125,7 kg/tc in this harvest), an expected condition seen that the drier climate favors the accumulation of sucrose by the crop.
