Executives from Guarani, the third largest sugar producer in Brazil, which belongs to the Tereos Group, the third largest sugar producer in the world, were in Rio Grande do Sul to follow the latest technological innovations of the Pelicano spraying drone.

The equipment manufactured by the Rio Grande do Sul company Skydrones has great potential for use in the sugarcane segment, for localized pest control. The work was monitored by professionals from FMC and Schroder Consultoria, an application technology company, which is validating the use of drones for various agricultural crops.

The sprays generated high densities of droplets, of fine to medium size, an ideal condition for large crops such as sugarcane. Automatic flights are carried out without the pilot's interference, following a flight plan drawn up on a map of the location of the pests to be controlled.
