Soybean harvesting in Brazil reached 82,1% of the area as of April 5, 2026, according to the National Supply Company (Conab). According to the most recent Weekly Crop Condition Monitoring report, work is progressing in all regions of the country, despite occasional interruptions caused by rain.

In Mato Grosso, the main producing state, only areas in the far southwest remain to complete the harvest. In Rio Grande do Sul, drier weather has favored the progress of operations and the maturation of the grains. In Paraná, isolated rains have temporarily interrupted work, while high temperatures have contributed to the development of the crops.

The harvest is also nearing completion in Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Bahia, and São Paulo, with the exception of later-planted areas. In Tocantins, excessive rainfall has increased grain moisture and delayed work. In Maranhão, the harvest is progressing in the southern, eastern, and central regions, while other areas are still flowering and maturing.

In Piauí, reduced rainfall has allowed the harvest to progress, with approximately two-thirds of the area already harvested. In Santa Catarina, first-crop plantings are maturing and being harvested at a good pace, with generally satisfactory results, although later-planted areas are suffering from irregular rainfall. In Pará, recent rainfall has slowed the pace of harvesting in some regions but is benefiting the development of later-planted crops.

Corn

The first-crop corn harvest has already reached 51,3% of the area in the country. In Minas Gerais, work is progressing more slowly due to the prioritization of soybeans, with about a quarter of the area harvested. In Rio Grande do Sul, the harvest is also slowing down for the same reason, although approximately 90% of the area has already been harvested.

In Bahia, about a third of the area has been harvested. In Paraná and São Paulo, the drier and more stable weather favors ripening and the progress of the work, which is already nearing its final stage. In Santa Catarina, the harvest is also close to completion, although with regional variations. In Goiás, on the other hand, the high humidity limits the pace of operations.

For the second corn crop, planting has already reached 99,2% of the area. In Mato Grosso, recent rains are favoring good crop development. In Paraná, the return of rainfall, especially in the western region, has helped to alleviate water and heat stress. In Mato Grosso do Sul, sowing is nearing completion, with only a few isolated areas remaining.

In Goiás, weather conditions have favored a higher incidence of pests. In São Paulo and Minas Gerais, planting is in its final stages, although delays in operations have led to some crops being planted outside the ideal window. In Tocantins, regular rainfall is supporting good crop development.

In Maranhão, the first crops have already entered the flowering stage, while in Piauí planting has been completed. In Pará, excess moisture has caused localized damage, such as foliar and root problems, but, in general, crop conditions remain favorable.
