SC Harvest 2024/25: corn productivity increases by 40% in the state
Harvest reached record productivity, with 9.717 kg per hectare
The soybean harvest in the Água Boa region (MT) is practically complete, with 99% of the areas harvested and historical productivity between 60 and 65 bags per hectare. The good results are attributed to the favorable climate during the development and harvest of the crops, according to José Claudemir Menegon, manager of the local Cocamar unit.
Opened in January, the Água Boa unit is the cooperative's largest and the first in Mato Grosso. The new structure has modernized the region's logistics, drastically reducing the time to unload grains — which previously took up to three days — to around 45 minutes. The expectation is that the total volume received will reach 131 thousand tons, the largest in the history of any Cocamar unit.
With a storage capacity of 155 tons and equipped with hoppers, dryers, silos and an input warehouse, the unit already has 205 cooperative members and 100 cooperating producers. During the off-season, farmers diversify their activities, with emphasis on corn, sorghum, sesame and brachiaria for pasture.
For producer Fábio Postal, a native of Paraná and resident in Água Boa since 2002, the harvest was excellent, with an average of 69 bags per hectare. He emphasizes that Cocamar's presence in the region brought more security and agility to local producers.
