Soybean planting reaches 61,6% of the estimated area in MS.

Soybean planting has surpassed half of the total area estimated for the 25/26 crop in Mato Grosso do Sul. Data from Siga-MS, released by Aprosoja/MS this Tuesday, the 4th, indicate that planting has been carried out on 3,26 million hectares, equivalent to 61,6% of the total area. 

The Southern Region has the most advanced planting, with 68% of the area already sown, followed by the Central Region, with 54,7%, and the Northern Region, with 46,8%. Compared to the same period last year, the operation is 4,2 percentage points behind schedule, mainly due to lack of rain. 

Records from the last five years indicate that the best planting window ends on November 14th, a period in which, historically, about 80% of the total area has already been planted. 

"The highlight of this week was the progress of planting in the Northern Region, which, after a slight delay at the start of planting due to lack of rain, advanced 23,7 percentage points in just one week," emphasizes Flavio Aguena, technical advisor at Aprosoja/MS.

For this cycle, the production estimate is 15,2 million tons, an increase of 8,1%; in an area of ​​4,7 million hectares, an increase of 5,9%, with an average productivity of 52,82 sc/ha, an increase of 2% compared to the previous harvest.
