Soybean planting ends this Wednesday (15) in Tocantins

The deadline for the dryland soybean planting window for the 2024/2025 harvest, which began on October 1, 2024, ends tomorrow, January 15, in Tocantins. The alert comes from the State Government, which, through the Agricultural Defense Agency (Adapec), also highlights the mandatory annual registration of the soybean area within five business days after the end of the planting window, that is, until January 22. 

There are more than 1,5 million hectares of arable land in the state, with an estimated production of 4,4 million tons of grain, according to data from the National Supply Company (Conab). The registration is a tool that supports essential health measures for the prevention and control of pests with a major economic impact, such as Asian rust. 

“Efficient monitoring is possible with data updates and property mapping, resulting in sanitary safety and high productivity,” emphasizes the Agency’s vice president, Lenito Abreu, adding that it is Adapec’s responsibility to monitor dryland soybean cultivation areas.

REGISTRATION

To register, farmers must submit the required documentation available on the agency's website (to.gov.br/adapec), make the payment and deliver the documentation to the Agency's branch in their municipality within the deadline stipulated above. Soybean farmers who fail to comply with the rules may be subject to the sanctions provided for in the legislation.
