Soybean planting season in Tocantins ends on the 15th.

The deadline for planting rainfed soybeans for the 2025/2026 crop in Tocantins ends next Thursday, January 15th. This guidance comes from the Tocantins Agricultural Defense Agency (Adapec), which is alerting rural producers to comply with the established window and phytosanitary requirements.

In the previous harvest, Adapec registered more than 1,46 million hectares cultivated with soybeans in the state, distributed across approximately 2,7 rural properties. Scheduling the planting season is one of the main measures adopted to control Asian soybean rust, considered the main disease affecting the crop.

According to Cleovan Barbosa, the technical manager for the State Program for the Control of Asian Soybean Rust, staggering planting reduces the fungus's survival in the field and contributes to the efficiency of plant health defense actions. He also emphasizes the importance of registering cultivated areas. “Registration is mandatory and must be completed within five business days after the end of the planting window. It is through this information that Adapec (the Tocantins State Agricultural Defense Agency) can monitor pests such as Asian soybean rust and guide control measures,” he highlights.

Mandatory registration

After the planting window closes, producers have until January 22nd to register their soybean-cultivated areas. To do so, they must submit the required documentation, available on the Adapec website, pay the fees, and file the documents at the Agency's unit in the municipality where the property is located.

Failure to comply with regulations may result in penalties as provided for in state law. Adapec advises producers to pay attention to deadlines to avoid penalties and contribute to the phytosanitary control of the crop in the state.
