The 1/2019 2020st harvest corn planted area in Paraná is 311 thousand 710 hectares, that is, 92% of the planting completed. Some producing areas in Paraná, such as Pitanga and Ivaipora, already have 60% and 70% of the area germinated, respectively.
Now, the 2019/2020 soybean planted area is 3 million 540 thousand 655 hectares, around 65% of the estimated area. The majority of producing areas are in vegetative development (57), in general. The data are from DERAL - State Department of Rural Economy with information from the latest bulletin released on 29/10.
According to Climatempo meteorologists, the rain in recent days has contributed to humidity in the field, which makes work in the field easier, very different from the situation observed at the beginning of the season when the weather was drier. More rain is forecast for the state in the coming days. Note that in the south of the state volumes can accumulate up to 50 millimeters.
According to the agency, the forecast harvest is 19,8 million tons of soybeans in 2019/20, close to the record of 19,9 million tons recorded in 2016/17.
The window for the corn "safrinha", which could register an increase in the sown area and even reach a production record in the next harvest, according to Deral forecasts.
For this to happen, better development and an attempt at an early harvest for soybeans are necessary, aiming to reduce the risk of frost impact on corn. The planting of the second corn crop generally occurs at the beginning of each year, after the soybean harvest.
