Andav Board of Directors for 2024-25 takes office
The inauguration ceremony not only honored the entity's 33-year history in defense of input distributors, but also celebrated achievements and advances
With 65% of soybean crops in Rio Grande Sul in the grain filling phase and 19% in maturation, the grain harvest advanced to 1% of the area cultivated in this harvest, which is 6.681.716 hectares. According to the Conjunctural Information, released today by Emater/RS, linked to the State Secretariat for Rural Development (SDR), in most regions of the State, culture demonstrates adequate development, driven by favorable climatic conditions, which promote training and grain filling.
The exception occurs in the Southeast Region of the State, where, once again, rainfall was insufficient or absent during the period, compromising the yields of the affected crops. The projected productivity for this harvest is 3.329 kg/ha. State production of the oilseed is expected to reach 22.246.630 tons.
In terms of soybean phytosanitary, control of end-of-cycle diseases prevails, especially Asian rust (Phakopsora pachyrhizi), widespread in most of the state. Although pathogen pressure is still significant, in areas where control was effective, there was no damage to the crop. However, in crops where applications were delayed or less effective fungicides were used, plants are losing leaf area significantly due to the spread of the disease.
In corn, the harvest also advanced and reached 72% of the area cultivated in this harvest, which is estimated at 812.795 hectares. As the logistical transport and processing processes of the grain processing units are directed towards the beginning of the soybean harvest period, the receipt of corn has been suspended. This factor explains the small increase in the corn harvest during the period, evolving in the administrative region of Emater/RS de Ijuí, but restricted to small areas destined for storage on the property.
Corn silage - the cultivated area is estimated at 348.549 hectares, and the currently projected productivity is 35.518 kg/ha, which should result in the production of around 12 million tons preserved in silos and destined mainly for the dairy herd.
1st harvest beans - the cultivated area in the State is valued at 25.264 hectares. The estimated productivity is 1.930 kg/ha, resulting in a production of 48.542 tons. The harvest continued, reaching 65% of the cultivated area. There remain crops in grain filling (27%) and maturing (8%), located in the Northeast of the State, a later sowing region compared to the others that produce in the first harvest.
2st harvest beans - the area cultivated in the 2nd harvest in the State is estimated at 19.900 hectares, and productivity at 1.568 kg/ha. Production is expected to reach 31.201 tons. Due to the higher relative humidity of the air, care is being directed towards the incidence of fungal diseases, such as anthracnose, which is favored by humid weather conditions and mild or high temperatures. It was necessary to carry out preventive control to avoid production losses and maintain grain quality.
Rice - the cultivated area is estimated at 900.203 hectares, according to the Rio Grandense do Arroz Institute (Irga). Productivity is estimated at 8.325 kg/ha, according to Emater/RS. Production is expected to reach 7,49 million tons. The culture continues in harvest. It is estimated that 10% of the cultivated area in the State was harvested. Among the remaining crops, 38% are maturing, 45% are grain filling, and 7% are flowering. For this last phase, the low temperatures recorded in some municipalities in Fronteira Oeste and Campanha were considered harmful to crops.
