Rabobank Brasil released its September report on the grains and oilseeds market, the Brazilian G&O Monthly Update, today (October 3). Prepared by Marcela Marini, the institution's Grains and Oilseeds analyst, the document provides an overview of prices, exports, and outlook for soybeans and corn.

According to the survey, soybean prices in the Brazilian domestic market rose 1% in September compared to August. The increase has been mainly supported by Chinese demand, which maintains a firm price base at ports.

In the case of corn, the movement was even more significant: prices rose 4% during the period. According to Rabobank, the increase is linked to strong domestic demand, both for animal feed production and for the production of corn-based ethanol, factors that put pressure on the available supply in the domestic market.

Soybean and corn exports

Brazilian soybean exports totaled 9,3 million tons in August 2025, a 24% drop compared to the previous month. Despite the decline, the year-to-date figure remains positive, with a 4% increase compared to the same period in 2024. For the 2024/25 harvest, RaboResearch projects shipments of 110 million tons of soybeans.

Climate may favor summer planting

The report also highlights the expectation of rain over the next 15 days, which should favor the advancement of summer crop planting, especially soybeans and corn.
