Soybean export index reaches 70% of production in Roraima

Soybean farmers in Roraima have already sold a large part of their oilseed production. Advance sales rates reach 70%, and a large part of this volume is destined for the foreign market. The remaining 30% of soybean production is absorbed by the local market, in the form of grains, bran and soybean oil. The good prices paid to producers in the market reflect a greater demand for grain cultivation. The results are published in the 11th Survey of the 2020/2021 Grain Harvest, released this Tuesday (10) by the National Supply Company (Conab).

According to Conab, the planted area of ​​this harvest grew by 40% compared to the last, reaching 70 thousand hectares. Productivity should also increase, and is estimated at 3.098 kilos per hectare. The result of this combination is an increase in production of 43%, exceeding 216 thousand tons. 

For corn, the estimate is that production will remain stable at 90 thousand tons. The cultivated area remains at 15 thousand hectares, with productivity of 6.000 kg/ha. Planting was completed in June and harvesting should take place between September and November. All cereal production is consumed in the state and is still insufficient to meet local demands, since there is a record of grain purchases from other states, such as Rondônia and Mato Grosso.
