Weather

This Tuesday (03), the passage of a cold front through the Southeast Region helps in the formation of areas of instability, with the possibility of rain showers in much of the Region and the Central-West. As a result, soil moisture levels remain adequate for the full development of 2nd harvest crops and cultural treatments.

Over the producing regions of Pará, Tocantins, Maranhão and the extreme east of Rio Grande do Sul, rain showers are also forecast. In other areas of the country, Tuesday (03) is open skies, with no rain forecast or indications that this absence could cause losses to producers.

Wednesday

Starting this Wednesday (04), areas of instability begin to lose strength in the center-south of the country, making rain showers more irregular throughout the week. In the South, the forecast is that this firmer, rainless weather will last until the middle of next week, when a new cold front advances over the Region and causes more widespread rain.

Rain for the next fortnight

Fortunately, forecast maps continue to indicate rain until mid-April in practically all producing regions in the central north, making weather conditions even more favorable. This benefits both the development of 2nd harvest crops, such as corn, cotton, beans and sunflower, as well as the carrying out of cultural treatments and harvesting, as there are still soybean crops to be harvested, in addition to 1st harvest corn and, mainly sugar cane, where the 2018/2019 harvest began this week.
