Sindiveg launches guide on the use of spraying drones.

On July 14th, the National Union of the Plant Protection Products Industry (Sindiveg) will launch the Spraying Drones Guide, a publication aimed at disseminating technical information, best practices, and guidelines on the correct, safe, and responsible use of the technology in the field. The launch will take place at the headquarters of the Parliamentary Agricultural Front (FPA) in Brasília (DF), with live streaming. 

The material clarifies myths and truths related to the technology and presents guidelines on operational safety, technical application criteria, productivity, efficiency, and responsibility in the use of applied products. The publication also highlights that spraying drones operate within a rigorous regulatory environment, involving different bodies responsible for aerial operation, product application, and the safety of agricultural activities.

According to Fábio Kagi, Regulatory Affairs Manager at Sindiveg, the purpose of the guide is to broaden access to technical information and contribute to an evidence-based discussion. "The use of drones in agriculture has advanced rapidly, and it is essential that producers, operators, and other professionals have access to reliable content on safety, regulations, and best application practices," he states.

In addition to the launch, the meeting will mark the presentation of the "Legal Manual for Agricultural Aviation," a document developed to guide producers, operators, pilots, and companies on legal aspects related to agricultural aviation and the use of drones in the country.

Technical knowledge strengthens the safe use of technology in the field.

In addition to the joint initiative to disseminate information on the use of spraying drones, Sindiveg also provides a free online training platform. The courses cover best practices for the efficient and responsible application of pesticides, with content on acquisition, transport, storage, maximum residue limits, illegal products, and agricultural aviation.

“Module 5 presents the trajectory and relevance of agricultural aviation to Brazilian agribusiness, highlighting the main crops served, the sector's regulations, and its contribution beyond the application of pesticides. The content reinforces the role of technical knowledge in adopting safe, efficient, and responsible practices in the field,” says Kagi. 

The courses are available for free on the Sindiveg platform (sindiveg.org.br/cursos).

The booklet brings together the main representative entities of the sector.

In addition to Sindiveg, the following organizations participated in the development of the guide: the National Union of Agricultural Aviation Companies (Sindag), CropLife Brasil (CLB), the National Association of Phytosanitary Product Companies (Aenda), and the Brazilian Association of Soybean Producers (Aprosoja Brasil). The publication aims to contribute to a qualified debate on aerial application with drones in Brazil, a topic that has been gaining relevance given the expansion of technology on rural properties.
