On the afternoon of September 10th, at Sítio Santo Antônio in Marinópolis, SP, the Embrapa BRS Isis cultivar will be presented. A BRS Isis is a Brazilian seedless grape cultivar, red in color, with a pleasant neutral flavor, for fresh consumption. It is vigorous and fertile, reaching productivity of around 25t/ha/cycle in the Sub-middle São Francisco Valley, with a sugar content above 16°Brix, reaching 21°Brix in tropical regions. Furthermore, the variety has a high tolerance to fungal diseases, especially downy mildew.

On the occasion, the main characteristics, training and management systems of the BRS Isis cultivar in the northwest region of the state of São Paulo will be presented. “BRS Isis is a cultivar that was recently introduced to the region. Producers will be able to learn about the cultivar, and technicians will be able to guide people”, says researcher Reginaldo Teodoro de Souza, from the Tropical Viticulture Station, in Jales. Also included in the program is a report on the experience of producer Carlos Tinelli.

The event is a promotion by Embrapa Uva e Vinho (Tropical Viticulture Experimental Station of Jales, SP), CDRS Regional Jales, Casa da Agricultura de Marinópolis and Casa da Agricultura de Palmeira d'Oeste, with support from the Rural Union of Palmeira d' Oeste, FAESP and SENAR and will be held at Sítio Santo Antônio in the town of Córrego Três Barras, in Marinópolis-SP.
