CropLife Brasil announces changes to its board of directors
Changes include Arthur Gomes, Catharina Pires and Renato Gomides; entity is organized into four sectoral chambers
The Government of São Paulo has just launched the Conecta Biometano SP digital platform to connect representatives of the biomethane supply chain and those interested in developing decarbonization projects. The app, which has the support of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (SAA), is the result of a partnership between the Secretariat of Environment, Infrastructure and Logistics (Semil) and InvestSP, an investment promotion agency linked to the Secretariat of Economic Development.
Producers, traders, service providers, equipment suppliers, research entities and even banks that finance these projects, for example, will be able to register on the platform, which will help companies and public managers find possible suppliers and partners for energy transition projects using biomethane.
The fuel is one of São Paulo's bets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Mainly because the state is the world's largest producer of sugarcane, whose vinasse is used as a raw material for the production of biomethane. Clean and renewable, it is considered one of the most viable options for the decarbonization of heavy transport in the coming years.
The launch of Conecta Biometano SP, which was attended by the Secretary of Agriculture, Guiherme Piai, took place during the Biometano SP Workshop, organized by Semil, SDE, SAA and InvestSP and which brought together, in São Paulo, several representatives from the public and private sectors interested in the topic of energy transition.
The project also has the support of the Brazilian Biogas Association (Abiogás), the Local Alcohol Production Arrangement (Apla), the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp) and the Sugarcane and Bioenergy Industry Union (Unica).
