Nickel increases soybean productivity, but requires careful dosage, study indicates
Micronutrient stimulates plant growth and improves the absorption of essential nutrients, but high doses can cause toxicity and compromise development
The National Supply Company (Conab) revised its estimate for São Paulo's coffee production from 5,61 to 5,44 million processed bags, a 2,9% decrease compared to the survey carried out in May. Compared to the 2023 harvest, this volume represents an increase of 8,2% or 413,9 thousand more bags being harvested in this cycle.
The area under coffee cultivation in the state remained unchanged at 198,3 thousand hectares, but there was a reallocation of this total, with an increase in the area designated for production and a reduction in the area under formation. The area under production grew 2,5%, to 186,1 thousand hectares, which was due to the entry of newly planted areas, but mainly due to the inclusion of areas that underwent intense pruning in previous cycles and that have now returned to production.
The productive potential of coffee crops was impacted by episodes of drought and high temperatures. Therefore, Conab revised the productivity estimate from 30,1 to 29,2 bags/hectare.
