SP Agriculture Department holds online event on plant health

Third edition of Terças do Agro has as its theme plant health and its importance in sustainable plant production

The Technological Innovation Centers and the Research Programming Centers of the research institutes linked to the Department of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo will hold this Tuesday, August 24th, the third edition of Terças do Agro. The online event's theme is plant health and its importance in sustainable plant production.

On the occasion, trends and opportunities will be debated and scientific, technological and marketing challenges will be discussed, in addition to the collaborative actions necessary for Brazil to meet global food demand, maintain high productivity in the face of climate change and use sustainable products and techniques for control and management. of pests and diseases.

Participating in this edition are researchers from the Agronomic Institute (IAC-APTA) Hamilton Ramos and Helvécio Della Coletta Filho and the researcher from the Biological Institute (IB-APTA) José Eduardo Marcondes de Almeida, as well as prominent names from companies linked to agriculture. Moderation is in charge of IAC researcher Alessandra Alves de Souza and Flávio Grynszpan, from the iCorps Brasil Institute.

"Terças do Agro have provided a coalition of efforts to discuss strategic topics for Brazilian agribusiness - such as plant health - with experts from the Research Institutions of the São Paulo Secretariat of Agriculture, companies with a strong presence in the sector, and new technology-based start-up companies", says Lilian Cristina Anefalos, researcher at IAC and one of the organizers of the series. "Based on this synergy of actions, we seek to consolidate alliances to increasingly strengthen the agro sector", she adds.

Terças do Agro is a joint initiative of the Research Institutes and Regional Hubs of the São Paulo Agribusiness Technology Agency (APTA), an agency of the Secretariat, and the iCorps Brasil Institute. The meetings take place from June to November 2021, in an effort between research, companies and entrepreneurs to discuss strategic themes linked to innovation in agriculture.

The first edition brought the theme of vegetable proteins ( visit ) and the second dealt with animal health ( here’s a tip for you! ).
