Wheat prices continue to rise in the domestic market
Wheat farmers consulted by Cepea remain hopeful of negotiating at higher prices in the coming months
Sustainability is the watchword in the field. Therefore, an increasing number of companies are looking for tools that optimize operations and help preserve the environment. In this sense, the Perfect Flight application is an ally, which will now be adopted by SLC Agrícola. In total, more than two million hectares of processed area will be monitored, an area equivalent to that of the state of Sergipe, directly impacting the performance and environmental preservation of the producer's soybean, corn and cotton plantations.
According to Leonardo Luvezuti, operations manager at Perfect Flight, this is the largest aerial spraying monitoring and management project ever implemented. “We are pioneers in the development of this technology, we serve national and multinational companies with a great impact on agribusiness. However, the total monitored area in which we work to generate data and add value to the product will be the largest, to date, in a single contract in global agriculture. We are excited about this challenge,” he explains.
Throughout the contractual execution, the tool will be customized to meet SLC's technological premises, which will happen collaboratively between the parties. “The objective is to make the startup’s system increasingly aligned with the agricultural company’s purposes and increase synergy between the two companies,” says Luvezuti.
With the system developed by the startup, it is possible to establish better levels of assertiveness in the application of agricultural pesticides, through data that helps preserve natural resources and avoid product waste and excessive use of pesticides. At the end, it is possible to generate a complete report, with graphs showing the amount of product used and the route traveled by the aircraft. In addition, the startup also minimizes drift, providing “precision spray” to the producer, that is, it promotes greater uniformity in applications, consequently reducing failures and waste, improving the quality of spraying.
According to Luiz Pannuti, Plant Health Coordinator at SLC Agrícola, with Perfect Flight's software it will be possible to take another step within the company's premises, which is to improve production quality and preserve natural resources. “The aerial application of agricultural pesticides is an important operation in our production system. Until now, the company only had operational performance indicators, but little could control the quality of the activity. We believe that Perfect Flight will help us monitor results in a more assertive way, allowing faster decision-making, ensuring better efficiency and more control of environmental liabilities.”
The contract begins in January and is valid for one year, however the agreement may be extended if the expected quality metrics are achieved. “We have already recorded 90% accuracy in spraying using the software, this is our goal with SLC. We will show that by controlling the use of pesticides we can increase productivity and add value to the final product”, says Leonardo.
