Winter harvest wines open new horizons
New edition of the Agricultural Report highlights technologies that have changed the wine growing scenario in the Southeast and Center-West regions of Brazil
Family farmers in the West region can count on a new boost for their harvest. This Wednesday, the 10th, Governor Carlos Moisés and the Secretary of State for Agriculture, Fisheries and Rural Development, Altair Silva, delivered five tractors to support the development of rural areas in the municipalities of Arabutã, Águas Frias, Ouro, Palma Sola and São José do Cedro. The resources come from a parliamentary amendment by the former federal deputy and now mayor of Chapecó, João Rodrigues, in addition to a counterpart from the State.
The governor highlighted that agriculture is one of the State's main vocations, it generates employment, income, quality of life and strengthens the economy. “The equipment helps municipalities to further promote actions in rural areas, in favor of those who put food on the tables of people from Santa Catarina, Brazil and the world. It is a demonstration that the union of efforts between Parliament, cities, State and Federal Government can bring great benefits”, he highlighted.
The tractors reinforce city hall machinery and will be used collectively by farmers, boosting local production. "It is another effort by the State Government to increase productivity in Santa Catarina. This machinery will bring a great benefit to the municipalities that are being served, supporting those who work and produce in the field", highlighted Altair Silva.
Investments of R$568,9 thousand
The agricultural tractors were purchased by the Department of Agriculture and will be transferred to the municipalities. The resources came from an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, in the amount of R$431,5 thousand, with a counterpart of R$137,4 thousand from the State Department of Agriculture.
“The act was possible with the partnership of the State Government. During the period that I was a deputy, I allocated several amendments to serve small rural properties. Today's is a great contribution, the mayors will certainly assist farmers who do not have a machine of this magnitude”, pointed out João Rodrigues.
Representing the municipalities served, the mayor of Arabutã, Leani Kapp Schmitt, highlighted that agribusiness predominates in the city. “This tractor will greatly help producer associations so they can use it in the best way possible, strengthening agriculture. I just have to thank you for the equipment,” she said.
The act was attended by the head of the Civil House, Eron Giordani, secretary of Economic Development, Luciano Buligon, president of Cidasc, Luciane de Cassia Surdi, president of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Santa Catarina, José Zeferino Pedroso, deputies states Fabiano da Luz, Marcius Machado, Silvio Dreveck, as well as city mayors, other secretaries and authorities.
