São Paulo launches plan to reduce bureaucracy in agribusiness on the 20th

Minister Blairo Maggi (Agriculture, Livestock and Supply), governor Geraldo Alckmin and the president of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of São Paulo (Faesp), Fábio Meirelles, launch on February 20th, at 9:30 am, in the capital of São Paulo, the Agro+ SP Plan. Like the national plan, created in the second half of last year by the Ministry of Agriculture, the São Paulo government's initiative is also aimed at reducing bureaucracy, modernizing and simplifying public sector rules and procedures involving agribusiness.

Agro+ is part of the strategy to increase Brazil's participation in world agricultural trade from 6,9% to 10% in five years, whether through the opening and expansion of markets or by adding value to national agricultural products. Since the launch of the plan, the Ministry of Agriculture has already responded to around 100 requests from the production sector to modify or eliminate procedures that represented obstacles to agricultural operations.

Agro+ SP is considered by Mapa as fundamental to achieving this goal, as the state is the largest economic hub in the country. In 2016, agribusiness exports from São Paulo totaled US$ 17,92 billion, an increase of 12,8% compared to 2015, when they reached US$ 15,88 billion, according to the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo. Paul. The sectors that stood out most were the sugar and alcohol complex, meat, juices, forest products and the soy complex.

Agro+ SP was prepared by the São Paulo government in partnership with the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of São Paulo (Faesp) and Mapa. The launch ceremony of the São Paulo plan will be in the auditorium on floor C of the WTC Teatro, at Avenida das Nações Unidas, 12.551. The president of AméricaEconomia, Agostinho Turbian, will also participate in the event.

Rio Grande do Sul was the first state to launch a regional version of Agro+. After São Paulo, the next ones should be Rondônia and the Federal District. To date, at least 10 municipalities have also expressed their intention to create local Agro+ plans.
