Government of São Paulo launches Agro Expo International

Event reinforces São Paulo as the sector's main hub to promote investments, new businesses and generate more jobs

The Governor of the State of São Paulo, João Doria launched this Thursday (28), at Palácio dos Bandeirantes, Agro Expo International, an event designed to provide an immersive experience to the main players in the sector and stimulate the generation of new business and investments .

"Agriculture is of capital importance for our state. São Paulo represents 22% of all national agricultural production. We are world leaders in sugar, alcohol, ethanol and orange juice, we have prominent positions in grains and animal protein. The number of jobs linked to agriculture is also large, it was a sector that grew by almost 9% in the supply of new jobs until October and our objective is to reach 15% labor growth in 2020. The objective of this event is to reach the main international markets, with emphasis on China, the Middle East and the USA", said Doria.

The event, inspired by international networking models, will be held between the 16th and 18th of November 2020 at the Transamerica Expo Center, in the capital of São Paulo. Agro Expo International will bring together all the links in the sector responsible for economic development, increased competitiveness and internationalization of Brazil.

There will be approximately 100 exhibitors and 4,5 highly qualified visitors are expected over the three days of the event, including rural producers and companies, entrepreneurs, the main associations and cooperatives, startups, the largest global agro trading companies, importers and chambers of commerce. 4,6 structured meetings are planned, which should generate an estimated turnover of more than R$2 billion. Approximately 90 lectures will be offered to discuss the main trends and global demands and demonstrate the reality of Brazilian agribusiness and quality production, with sustainability and technology.

“It’s an opportunity to explore the future and learn about the world’s demands, to put ourselves one step ahead in the global discussion. There will be three days of new connections, positioning, relevant content and exponential growth”, says Secretary of Agriculture and Supply Gustavo Junqueira.

The event will unite the present and future of agribusiness in an unprecedented experience, made up of five segments: Agro Production - from planting to harvesting, who makes it happen; Agro 5.0 - emerging technologies and connectivity; Agro Excelência - with financial services, governance and management; Agro Global - food and consumer goods agroindustry, exports and market opening; and Agro Startups - disruptive solutions, bringing the 50 best, with the objective of raising R$100 in investment for each.
