SP starts soybean planting calendar this Tuesday (1st)

Soybean planting begins this Tuesday (1st) in Region 1 of the state of São Paulo. The calendar was defined by the Agricultural Defense of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply (SAA) after the regionalization of the sanitary break for the crop, which divided the state into three regions.

In Region 1, the sowing period extends until December 29th. In Regions 2 and 3, planting will begin on September 13th and 16th, respectively.

The division of the state establishes different periods for soybean sowing and is part of the phytosanitary management measures foreseen in Ordinance SDA/Mapa nº 1.124/2024. The objective is to rationalize the use of fungicides and reduce the risk of developing resistance in the fungus Phakopsora pachyrhizi, which causes Asian soybean rust.

Registration of the areas is mandatory.

In addition to respecting the planting calendar, producers must register the areas cultivated with soybeans. This procedure must be completed within 15 days after the end of the planting period established for each region.

Registration is mandatory and must be done through the system provided by the Agricultural Defense agency. Failure to comply may result in penalties as stipulated by law.
