The Government of SP today launched the "Agro SP Solidário" campaign which aims, through the mobilization of the São Paulo agro sector, to offer support to rural and urban communities in vulnerable situations in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, affected by the climate calamity.

The program carries out actions such as campaigns to collect food and financial resources to purchase water and cleaning products, distribution of food and emergency use items produced by the São Paulo agricultural sector in partnership with the Social Solidarity Fund of the State of São Paulo, and offers training and technical support to rural producers and family farmers in the resumption of production and economy in Rio Grande do Sul.

The main objective is to strengthen the network of solidarity and partnerships between public and private entities and civil society organizations, aiming to guarantee an effective and coordinated response to the emergency needs of affected communities.

How Agro SP Solidário works

1st Front: The Comprehensive Technical Assistance Coordination (Cati) will receive donations at all of its Agricultural and Regional Houses, with all material received being sent to the Social Solidarity Fund of the State of São Paulo.

2st Front: the Coordination of the Sectoral and Thematic Chambers, with the presidents of each Sectoral Chamber, will purchase drinking water and cleaning materials with donations received from people and AgroSP entities, with all purchased material being sent to the São Paulo Social Fund.

3st Front: The Department of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo will provide the Government of Rio Grande do Sul with technical and scientific support for research and extension actions that can directly support producers affected by the tragedy.
