Projects by rural producers and companies in the national agricultural sector interested in receiving foreign investments will be able, from now on, to register in the Brazilian Agribusiness Investment Portfolio, on the website of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (Mapa).
Once registered, the projects will be available for direct consultation by potential investors interested in the Brazilian agricultural sector, consolidating joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, technological partnerships, equity investments, among other modalities.
The Ministry of Agriculture will promote the dissemination of the portfolio in countries with potential for foreign direct investment and will report to producers and companies about possible investor interest in the presented project.
The idea of the initiative is to provide conditions for national companies to expand production capacity, modernize facilities or even implement projects of interest to the agricultural sector through external investment, allowing benefiting companies/properties to increase production capacity, competitiveness and promotion. of local regional development.
As an indirect benefit, the measure allows the company to access markets abroad and expand the country's participation in international trade in agricultural products, whether from the point of view of production, processing or marketing.
The registered projects will be disclosed to embassies and consulates, in the various commercial promotion events in which Mapa participates, such as international agricultural fairs, meetings and seminars aimed at attracting investments, and will also serve as an important tool for the work of attachés. Brazilian agricultural companies in identifying potential investors in the agribusiness chain.
When registering projects, producers and representatives must fill in basic data such as: the company's area of activity, the nature of the intended investment and inform the company's contact person for contact.
Those registered will be able to receive notifications about international missions, investment rounds and other events organized by the Ministry of Agriculture.
