Rumo Logística opens office in Primavera do Leste

Rumo Logística opened an administrative office in Primavera do Leste. This milestone is not only an operational expansion, but also a significant boost to local and regional economic development, coinciding with the city's 38th emancipation anniversary.

The event was attended by Mayor Leonardo Bortolin, as well as other local and state authorities. The office will serve as a base for the operations and management of the works of the Senador Vicente Vuolo State Railway, which will extend for more than 700 kilometers, connecting Rondonópolis to Lucas do Rio Verde and passing through Cuiabá, with a completely private investment.

The construction of the railway already boosts the local economy. To date, according to company information, 42 homes have been rented to accommodate workers, with plans to expand to 77 units. Primavera do Leste already employs 250 workers directly on the works, with expectations that this number will grow to 600 locally and up to 5 thousand on the stretch to Rondonópolis. Rumo Logística plans to use 89 thousand tons of rails and more than one million cubic meters of concrete.

Henry Domingues, executive implementation manager, highlighted that the work will move an impressive 183 million cubic meters of earth and exemplified the volume of concrete as sufficient to build 13 cable-stayed bridges similar to the Octávio de Oliveira in São Paulo.

Vinicius Roder, Rumo's Government Relations Manager, highlighted the importance of hiring local labor whenever possible and highlighted Primavera do Leste's robust infrastructure as one of the reasons for choosing the city. “The jobs created are a reality, and the monthly economic movement foresees 45 thousand meals served, marking a new chapter in the history of Rumo and the region,” stated Roder.
