After a month of provisional operation in Gravataí, the Rio Grande do Sul Supply Center (Ceasa/RS) will return to operation at its headquarters in the Anchieta neighborhood, starting next Monday, 17/6. On the first day, opening hours will be from 12:30 pm to 18:18 pm and from Tuesday (XNUMXth) at regular times (see image below), with some structural restrictions due to the lack of electricity.
Among the limitations are the temporary closure of administrative buildings and the impossibility of using the Non-Permanent Shed (GNP), which requires a structural assessment. “We initially carried out an emergency operation with the aim of ensuring that Rio Grande do Sul would not suffer a food shortage. The operation was a success, and Ceasa guaranteed not only the supply, but a place to guarantee the flow of what was produced during this period. Now we are moving towards establishing normal operations”, stated the State Secretary for Rural Development, Ronaldo Santini.
Ceasa/RS was away from its headquarters in the Anchieta neighborhood for a month due to the flooding that hit the complex, where the water level reached 2,80 meters. During this period, the Center operated on a temporary basis at the Farmácias São João Distribution Center, at km 80 of the Freeway, in Gravataí.
In the improvised structure, almost 11 thousand tons of vegetables were sold. Of the 311 wholesale companies, 102 participated at some point in the provisional Ceasa, in addition to 460 of the 1.570 registered producers.
The president of Ceasa/RS, Carlos Siegle de Souza, considers that the operation in Gravataí was successful. “The sales volume for provisional operation can be considered satisfactory, after all, given the local conditions, it is almost the amount possible to sell, since the area of our headquarters in the Anchieta neighborhood is ten times larger than the one we have provisionally installed”, highlighted the president.
