The total gross revenue of Cafés do Brasil expected for the 2022 coffee year was calculated at R$61,82 billion, taking as a reference the estimated coffee harvest and the average prices received by producers. In this context, in the case of coffee of the species Coffea arabica, the gross revenue of the crops was estimated at R$ 47,48 billion, which corresponds to 77%, and, additionally, in relation to coffee of the species of Coffea canephora (robusta and conilon ), revenue was calculated at R$14,34 billion, an amount equivalent to 23% of the country's total coffee plantations.

This revenue estimate was prepared based on data from the Systematic Survey of Agricultural Production – LSPA, from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics – IBGE, which was carried out in August, as well as the average prices received by producers for Arabica coffee. 6, hard drink for the better, and also for Robusta coffee type 6, sieve l, in the period from January to August this year.

Based on the estimate of gross revenue, if a ranking is made of the revenue of coffee crops, including the two species (C. arabica and C. canephora), in the six main producing states in Brazil, for this coffee year 2022 in reference , it appears that Minas Gerais, with expected revenue of R$33,28 billion, will have revenue equivalent to approximately 54% of national revenue, and will therefore occupy first place in the ranking. Next, Espírito Santo stands out, with R$13,84 billion (22,4%), followed by the State of São Paulo, with R$5,96 billion (9,6%).

In fourth place in the ranking is the State of Bahia, with R$3,97 billion (6,4%), followed by Rondônia, with revenue of R$2,93 billion (4,7%). And finally, in sixth place, the State of Paraná, whose gross revenue from coffee crops was estimated at R$ 754,65 million, which will correspond to just 1,2% of national revenue. Other producing states make up 100% of the gross revenue of Cafés do Brasil.

It is worth clarifying that the data and figures on the performance of the annual revenue of Cafés do Brasil, as well as the other crops mentioned below, are included in the Gross Value of Production – VBP August/2022, which is prepared and published by the Secretariat of Agricultural Policy – SPA, from the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply – Mapa, and is available in full, as are all other editions of this document, on Coffee Observatory of the Consórcio Pesquisa Café, coordinated by Embrapa Café.

The amount of VBP for coffee farming already mentioned (R$61,82 billion) is equivalent to 7,4% of the total of the seventeen crops researched in this SPA/Mapa study, which is R$838,25 billion. Therefore, these numbers place Cafés do Brasil in fourth place in relation to the total revenue of other crops.

In this case, soy stands out in first place in the national ranking, with R$ 346,46 billion, which is equivalent to 41,3% of total gross revenue in 2022, which is followed by corn, with R$ 153,23, 18,2 billion (103,06%), and, in third, sugar cane, with R$ 12,2 billion (37,66%). In addition, gross revenue from cotton farming is ranked fifth in the ranking as it is estimated at R$4,5 billion (XNUMX%).

According to this study of the Gross Production Value, it is worth highlighting that, as the revenue of Cafés do Brasil from the 2021 harvest reached the amount of R$45,51 billion, and taking into account that the 2022 harvest, object main part of this analysis, as previously mentioned, is estimated at R$61,82 billion, it appears that there will be a significant positive variation of 36% in the gross revenue of coffee crops, when comparing the year 2022 with 2021.
