Until this Friday (25/02), technicians from the National Supply Company (Conab) are collecting information to estimate grain and fiber harvest numbers in Mato Grosso. The work began this week and is taking place remotely.

Attention at this moment is focused on estimates of average productivity of crops such as soybeans and rice, sown in the 1st harvest, as well as projections of area planted with 2nd harvest crops, such as cotton and corn. This season has been marked by abundant and widespread rainfall, anticipation of planting and harvesting work for all crops, since the 1st harvest, with a consequent reduction in risk for 2nd harvest crops.

The investigation is carried out in 81 municipalities in the state of Mato Grosso, divided into 8 research routes, which take into account the cities that have the greatest participation in state agribusiness.

The objective of the research is to seek data regarding the most relevant variables regarding the state harvest, such as: planted area, average productivity prospects, crop development, including information on the predominant stage of the crop, influence of climatic conditions on crops, control of possible pests and diseases, progress of harvesting and planting work, as well as marketing aspects, such as sales, among other aspects.

The consolidated result of the research will be part of the 6th Survey of the 2021/22 Grain Harvest, which will be released by the Company, nationwide, on March 10th.
