Bedbugs, whiteflies and other pests cause losses of more than 50% in soybean production
Researchers point to the use of chemical and biological products and strategic management as a way to control these pests
Data from the Brazilian Association of the Machinery and Equipment Industry (Abimaq) shows that the sector is booming. The first quarter of the year ended with growth of 28%. Of the total revenue of R$ 16,9 billion, R$ 13,3 billion were sales to the Brazilian domestic market, a result 45,1% higher than March 2020. The machine rental and management market is following this expansion agricultural products and equipment, increasingly sought after as an alternative for producers of grains and other items produced and transported by Brazilian agribusiness entrepreneurs. This is because fleet outsourcing can help the agricultural sector optimize operations and the productivity of its crops.
The lease can be even more beneficial if the asset management is carried out by a company specializing in outsourcing, especially for farms that are far from large urban centers. Since, in remote regions, the main difficulty for those who have fleets is access to quality services for the maintenance of these machines, equipment and vehicles. “With the asset management service, our objective is to create comfort for the producer, carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance. This is done through the accreditation and training of a network of suppliers or even through the execution of an “in house” process, in which this operation is carried out within the property.”, explains José Renato Donadon, commercial manager at Ouro Verde, specialized in management and leasing.
According to Donadon, this machinery and equipment management work can provide availability of over 95% of assets in the first year of use. “This means that every 10 hours, the equipment performs at its best for 9,5 hours.” Another important benefit of outsourcing is the non-mobilization of the company's cash flow when purchasing assets. “This way, it is possible to apply capital to increase productivity. In other words, by outsourcing the care of vehicles and equipment to a specialized company, producers and managers can better direct their resources towards the growth and innovation of their business. As, for example, in technologies that generate greater production per hectare”, highlights Para Marluz Renato Cariani, Commercial Head of Heavy Truck Rental at Ouro Verde.
Also according to Cariani, the leasing and management of agricultural machinery and equipment is already consolidated in the international market, as it also brings other advantages such as reducing the need for working capital and increasing the enterprise's liquidity index. This is because the lessee replaces capital immobilization with rental costs. In addition to the availability of always up-to-date equipment and reduced operating costs.
Therefore, when choosing between purchasing or leasing and managing agricultural machinery, it is important to weigh the pros and cons. “Aspects such as maintenance, wear, investments, benefits, cost-benefit are some of the ways to analyze the best alternative. This way, it will be possible to conclude which option is most advantageous and best optimizes the company's resources”, adds Cariani.
What machines can be rented?
