Until the next day, the Reference Unit for Technology and Safety in the Application of Pesticides receives 7 registrations for its training based on Regulatory Standard 31.8 (NR 31.8). The course will take place in two modules, from May 14th to 18th and June 4th to 8th, and will train professionals from agribusiness companies to train rural workers in the role of pesticide applicator.

A non-profit entity, the Reference Unit for Technology and Safety in the Application of Pesticides (UR) was born from the association between the Engineering and Automation Center of the Agronomic Institute (CEA/IAC), an entity of the Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply of the State of São Paulo, and the private sector. The UR is located on the CEA/IAC premises, in the São Paulo city of Jundiaí, where the NR 31.8 course will be held.

The NR 31.8 training schedule includes aspects of safety in technologies used to control pests, diseases and weeds, as well as measures to protect the health of rural workers.

“UR’s mission is to bring basic precepts on the use of agrochemicals to workers. UR operates as a channel for disseminating good agricultural practices, with a long-term vision. We seek to raise awareness among agroindustry companies about the socioeconomic importance of promoting safe applications of agrochemicals”, points out Hamilton Ramos, scientific researcher at CEA/IAC and coordinator of the Reference Unit.

Professionals and companies interested in NR 31.8 training must register via the website www.unidadedereferencia.com.br. A maximum of 15 participants will be accepted.
