The main citrus growing regions in the state of São Paulo have recorded large volumes of rain since December. In the current period of development of the 2022/23 oranges (fruit filling), the higher humidity should guarantee ideal fruit growth and allow good setting in the case of later flowering.

Although the recent rainfall does not completely reverse the impacts of the prolonged drought periods in 2020 and 2021, it is a relief, as it could result in an increase in productivity in orchards compared to what was observed in the last two harvests. On the other hand, greater humidity increases the need for preventive phytosanitary care.
