RS Harvest 2025/26: recurring rains favor soybean crops
Planting has progressed to 93% of the projected area, which is 6.742.236 hectares.
Over the weekend, the arrival of a cold air mass over the state of Rio Grande do Sul should cause a drop in temperatures and greater atmospheric stability, reducing rainfall and generally decreasing evaporative demand in the short term. This is according to the Integrated Agrometeorological Bulletin 01/2026, produced by the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock, Sustainable Production and Irrigation (Seapi), in partnership with Emater/RS and the Rio Grande do Sul Rice Institute (Irga).
In the coming days, the forecast indicates variable cloudiness, with a tendency for temperatures to rise and concentrated rainfall, more frequent in the north of Rio Grande do Sul, which may favor localized replenishment of soil moisture and increase the variability of water conditions between regions.
Friday (02/01): the low pressure system will maintain rainy conditions in all regions, with lower accumulations in the South; maximum temperatures should reach 34°C in the West.
Saturday (03/01): the passage of a cold front over Rio Grande do Sul will stabilize the atmosphere, leaving the day sunny with few clouds. Temperatures will be lower in all regions, with lows of 13°C in the South and highs around 29°C in the West.
Sunday (04/01): the cold air mass associated with the cold front will keep the weather stable, with a sunny day; maximum temperatures should reach around 33°C in the Western Half.
Monday (05/01): the sun will predominate, and temperatures will rise throughout the State; highs should reach 35°C in the Southern Half and the Metropolitan Region.
Tuesday (06/01): the sun will appear between clouds, with a possibility of rain in the Serra region at the end of the day; the maximum temperature may reach 38°C in the Vale do Taquari region and in the Metropolitan area.
Wednesday (07/01): Cloud cover will be variable, and rain is forecast in the border region with Uruguay. The maximum temperature should reach 40°C on the Costa Doce and in the Southern Half of the state.
