Wheat forum highlighted the economic viability of the crop
The event brought together around 300 researchers, agribusiness professionals, farmers, seed producers, cereal growers and mills from 10 Brazilian states
The city of Campo Novo do Parecis (MT) receives technicians from the National Supply Company (Conab) to analyze the production costs of cotton, corn, soybeans, sunflower, sorghum and cowpeas. The work began today and continues until July 12th, with meetings between Conab technicians and the main actors in the production chain of the crops researched.
During the meetings, data such as inputs, labor, forms and stages of production services and product marketing will be evaluated. Various information is collected about the production process: machines, agricultural implements, pesticides, fertilizers, seedlings and seeds.
The survey of production costs carried out by Conab serves as a basis for defining public policies, including the Minimum Price Guarantee Policy (PGPM), an instrument used by the federal government in actions to strengthen agriculture. The region visited is one of Mato Grosso's main production hubs for these crops.
