Rain increases reports of Asian soybean rust in the 22/23 harvest
There are 119 reports of the disease and rust is present in nine Brazilian states, with 79% of occurrences in commercial crops in the grain filling phase
Between the 24th and 27th of January, technicians from the National Supply Company (Conab) carried out data collection work that will serve as a basis for calculating the production costs of products from the states of São Paulo and Rio Grande do Sul .
The panels were held in the São Paulo municipalities of Itapeva (wheat), Itaberá (wheat) and Taquarituba (beans). Panels were also made in the Rio Grande do Sul municipalities of Liberato Salzano (orange), Flores da Cunha (garlic/grape) and Bento Gonçalves (grape).
The data collection included contributions from various segments that make up the production process, such as producers, technical assistance, input resellers and technicians from research bodies. Technical coefficients and prices of fertilizers, pesticides, labor and agricultural machinery are some of the items researched by Conab teams.
The production cost is a tool for controlling and managing production activities. Through it, information is generated to assist in decision-making by rural producers and in the formulation of strategies by the public and private sector.
The data is also used by the federal government as one of the main parameters in preparing minimum prices and calculating guarantee values used as a reference for the Price Guarantee Program for Family Farming (PGPAF). In addition, they serve as a reference for calculations when obtaining credit through the Financing for Storage of Agricultural Products (FEE), the Minimum Price Guarantee Policy (PGPM) and the Minimum Price Guarantee Policy for Sociobiodiversity Products ( PGPM-Bio).
