In Primavera do Leste (MT), producer Júlio César Librelot obtained above-average results in productivity in this year's winter harvest. “We reached 180 bags per hectare with the super early FS450, which withstood an intense period of rain and still exceeded the production ceiling with grain quality”, he says.

Second harvest corn production in the state reached 31,08 million tons this year, 38,58% higher than the average of the last five harvests, according to IMEA – Mato Grosso Institute of Agricultural Economics. In the country, the winter harvest is estimated at 73,795 million tons, a variation of 36,9% compared to the previous cycle, according to the 12th survey by the National Supply Company – Conab.

Always attentive to the choice of seed, planting time, fertilization and appropriate management, Paulo Sachetti reached a new level in Itiquira (MT), achieving a productivity of 161 bags per hectare with the FS450. “The super precocity of the hybrid responded very well to our region, demonstrating high productivity and stability. For 2020, we will increase the area planted with the cultivar from 650 hectares to 2300 hectares,” he says.

Producer in Vera (MT), close to the agricultural regions of Sinop and Sorriso, Marcos Lorenzi usually evaluates the technology used in seeds to maximize results each harvest. In 2019, Lorenzi says he decided to test the super precocity of FS450 on a commercial scale and obtained 147 bags/ha in 120 hectares planted with the hybrid. “We have been looking for materials that bring high gains in productivity, cycle and health”, he highlights.

“The Cerrado requires corn cultivars that respond better to its conditions. The association of improved genetics, biotechnology and specificity has supported producers to reach above-average production ceilings in the region, considered a strategic hub for Brazilian agriculture”, says agronomist and market development manager at Forseed, Danimar Zanetti.

Rafael Scarton is another producer from Mato Grosso celebrating the last harvest. On the property, in Primavera do Leste, he harvested 138 bags/ha in a thousand hectares cultivated with super early, while the average productivity in the other 4.800 hectares was 123 hectares. “In the harvest strategy, it is always important to check the performance of a hybrid given the climatic conditions and pressure from pests and diseases. In our region we need productivity combined with stalk stability and quality and the hybrid gave us this result”, he concludes.
